Table Groups are intentional groups within our community that meet regularly in each other’s homes… at the table. Breaking bread with one another, sharing and discussing, developing relationships, and being seen and known as you share life together.
God designed us to need community with one another in order to walk through our journeys. Table Groups are designed to help you develop those relationships with others who will help you grow closer to Jesus and walk in those steps through community.
If you want to see your life change significantly, it requires intentional relationships. That’s what a Table Group provides: a place where real life and real issues are discussed. A place where people can celebrate successes and good times of life, as well as discuss tough and disappointing times. A place to be encouraged, equipped, and challenged as we follow Jesus.
This group for women, led by Debbie Heisley-Cato, will meet every other Wednesday over a simple meal. Our purpose will be to make deep connections with one another in God's living presence. To begin discussion, we will center around questions arising from the previous Sunday's theme. However, you do not need to have attended the previous Sunday's service to be able to participate. All women are welcome! Meets every other Wednesday at 6:30 pm at The Journey.
Jesus, Community & Food...the best things! This group, led by Lonna Zimmerman, will meet monthly as we walk through the book, "Taste and See: Discovering God Among Butchers, Bakers and Fresh Food Makers", by Margaret Feinberg. This book is designed to help us go deeper in our understanding of food and faith. Meetings will be from 6-8 PM on the following Fridays:
Oct. 18, Nov. 8, and Dec. 6.
Join the Turners and the Lawsons for a time together of connection, food, and conversation. They will meet every first and third Wednesday, from 6:30-8:30 pm (alternating between the Turner and Lawson homes in the Harrisburg area). This group is open to all, whether individuals or family groups. Kids are always welcome!
All persons who identify as male are invited to the Men's Table Group, which will meet quarterly. There will be an upcoming Men's Prayer Breakfast on Saturday, October 26 at 8:30 am. We will gather for breakfast at Front Street Diner in Harrisburg, and spend time connecting, laughing, and praying together. Our hope is that we leave having connected with other men in our church, and know that we are being prayed for by at least one other person. This is an invitation to stop doing this life and journey alone, and find belonging and deeper connection at The Journey. Last minute registrations are always welcome!
The Young Professionals Group is aimed toward young professional adults in The Journey community to meet and connect. They will meet monthly, the second Tuesday of each month, from 7:00-9:00 pm. Events and meetings will rotate from various outings at different locations, to discussions and in-depth conversations at The Journey. We would love for you to join this exciting new group!
Hosting a group doesn’t have to be intimidating or overwhelming, and it isn’t about being perfect. It’s about serving others by giving them a place to share life and be known. We want Table Groups to be less about passing along information and more about relational investment. A group host’s goal is to create a space for people to be known, loved and cared for, and to help them move towards their next steps.
